Soft, chocolatey, and slightly gooey in the centre, these Brownie Heart Pancakes are the perfect sweet breakfast or brunch treat. Made with spelt or oat flour, cacao, and protein powder, they bring together the richness of brownies and the comfort of pancakes — especially when shaped into hearts for special occasions.
Serve them warm with butter, icing sugar, syrup, and chocolate bits for an indulgent finish that feels extra special.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oat flour
- 2 tsp Lifestyle Food Cacao Powder
- 1 scoop protein powder
- ½–¾ cup milk
- 1 tbsp Nutella or chocolate nut butter of choice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Butter, to serve
- Icing sugar, to serve
Method:
- Mix the Batter: In a bowl, combine the spelt or oat flour, protein powder, baking powder, cacao powder, and salt. Gradually add the milk and Nutella (or chocolate nut butter) and mix until smooth. Adjust the milk as needed to achieve a thick but pourable batter.
- Cook the Pancakes: Heat a lightly greased pan over medium heat. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of batter into a heart-shaped mould (or directly into the pan). Cook until bubbles form and the underside is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until lightly golden and slightly soft in the centre.
- Serve: Serve warm with a dollop of butter, a dusting of icing sugar, syrup, and chocolate bits if desired.
